Why are politics so confusing to the average person? Do current and prospective government officials purposely try to confuse voters into decisions they would not normally make?

Looking back over my past three years here at the University of La Verne, I was contemplating why I made the decision to pursue a degree in Journalism. I remembered that I did it so that I could inform the public, whether on a national or local level, by giving readers a source to find truthful and unbiased information on events.

It has been estimated that at least 10 percent of the U.S. population is gay, lesbian or bisexual. So it is logical to conclude that 10 percent of the ULV population probably falls into this category. But one would not know this by observing activities on campus.

Once again, California Governor Pete Wilson has let the supposed interests of the business community blind him to the importance of basic civil rights.
