The baseball team continued to dominate in Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play as they advanced their record to 9-1 after a mercy-ruled seven inning game against Caltech. The first place Leopards outplayed the Beavers, 16-0, April 1 at Ben Hines Field.
It has been a winning two weeks for the women’s water polo team. The Leopards took down the Chapman Panthers, 15-11, in their final stretch of Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference games March 30 at the La Verne Aquatic Center.
The men’s water polo team fell short to the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference powerhouse, the Pomona-Pitzer Sagehens, 19-16, as the Leopards were unable to respond to a third quarter scoring streak by the Sagehens.
University President Devorah Lieberman and Provost Jonathan Reed presented a draft of a resolution on Oct. 26 to students and faculty listing the actions they plan to take in the coming weeks and months to improve the treatment of minority groups on campus.
The Mission Tiki Drive-In Theatre could be showing some of its final films this year. Although nothing has been approved yet, the city of Montclair has been dealing with a proposal to tear the theater down to make space for several warehouses.
Aiden Aizumi, a transgender activist and University of La Verne alumnus, shared his experience in honor of Transgender Rememberance Day on Nov. 20 via Zoom. This event also centered around remembering those in the transgender community who have died this past year due to violence.
