The La Verne baseball team came out strong against the Occidental Tigers, winning 2-1 in game one of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Postseason Tournament on Friday, but fell flat on Saturday – falling to Chapman 4-1, then to Cal Lutheran 5-1 in an elimination game.

The Leopards took the victory in game one, 9-2, while the Stags bounced back in game two to win, 5-2.It was also Senior Day for the Leopards, as they celebrated the careers of 13 players with a pregame ceremony.

La Verne came into the doubleheader with a 20-8 overall record and 5-5 conference record.
