Darkness brought to light through sculpture

Artist John Frame uses stage lighting expertise in the Claremont Museum of Art’s exhibition, "Mephistopheles and the Swan Girl," on view through April 24, to display highly detailed sculptures, photographs, videos and other artwork he created for the 2018 production of "Faust" by the Lyric Opera of Chicago and the Portland Opera.

Folk artists embrace carnival culture

A turquoise, red and purple metal sunflower ushers the viewer into the exhibit, “Dee Marcellus Cole and Carnival Seekers,” at the Claremont Museum of Art. The lobby featured the first selection of pieces against makeshift corner walls reminiscent of Dee Marcellus Cole’s colorful house. Paper cutout flags lined the ceiling.
