The University of La Verne’s communications department recently received top honors from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association and Broadcast Education Association for the works of its students and faculty in the 2020-2021 academic year.
The University of La Verne’s Campus Times was awarded the Columbia Scholastic Press Association’s Gold Medal Award for overall excellence for the 2019-2020 academic year. The award marks the publication’s 17th CSPA Gold Medal in the past 20 years.
As we at the Campus Times celebrate the paper’s 100th anniversary this week, it is important to remember and acknowledge the importance of a free and independent press on a college campus.
The Campus Times and La Verne Magazine both won Silver Crown awards from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association, or CSPA, putting them among the top 40 publications total to win Gold or Silver crowns among a field of 1,100 entrants for the 2016-17 academic year.
The Columbia Scholastic Press Association at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism awarded the Campus Times a Gold Medal for print and online journalism publication excellence for the 2013-2014 academic year.
