In the 72-year history of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC), only two teams have ever gone undefeated. The first was in 1954 when the Occidental College Tigers went 8-0. The second happened Tuesday when the University of La Verne Leopards completed an 18-0 sweep of the conference.
Riding a wave of success, the University of La Verne baseball team has extended its season record to 9-2, overall and 6-0 in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC). Coming off a sweep of Pomona-Pitzer and a victory over Cal Baptist, the Leos are currently on a seven-game winning streak, taking eight of their last nine.
The University of La Verne baseball team made a three-game sweep of the Occidental Tigers, taking a double-header, Saturday, Feb. 21, at Oxy, and winning again Tuesday, Feb. 24, at home, improving its record to 5-2, overall and 3-0 in SCIAC competition.
Opening its season on a good note, the University of La Verne baseball team split its opening day double against the Azusa Pacific University Cougars, Saturday.
