The Ludwick Center for Spirituality, Cultural Understanding and Community Engagement hosted the 12th annual Spirit of La Verne Recognition Ceremony on Tuesday in the Sacred Space.
La Verne community members gathered April 23 in the Campus Center Ballroom for the first Chili con Carnage competition hosted by the School of Professional and Continuing Education.
Volunteers of all ages bundled themselves in thick sweaters and braced the cold wind with bright smiles as they walked, jogged or ran laps around the tracks to raise money for cancer awareness at the annual Relay for Life on Saturday and Sunday.
Jon Sweat, senior adjunct instructor, discussed the importance of love and respect as he revealed that he has three types of cancer: polycythemia, skin cancer and leukemia.
