Vannesza Sebok, junior biology major, views the work of photographer Christine Carr titled “Tussling By the Smoker.” The image is part of Carr’s greater work, “In the Air: A photographic investigation of the events that give rise to airborne particles.” Her focus is the universal issue of unhealthy particles being emitted into the air, the effect they have on the environment, and her need to spread awareness. She explained that these emissions include “byproducts of transportation, celebration, energy production or food growth and preparation.” Carr’s artist talk will be in the Abraham Campus Center Ballroom on October 4 followed by a reception and gallery viewing in the Irene Carlson Gallery from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. / photo by Ariel Torres
