Fashion is a statement, it tells stories and breaks molds. Alternative fashion is often misconstrued as a singular look but it is actually so much more than just an ensemble of black clothes.

The annual Met Gala, an annual event hosted by Vogue and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, reared its head this week. The event Monday coincides with the Costume Institute's newest presentation, curated by Andrew Bolton.

As the spring 2026 semester draws to a close, seniors have to think about the incoming graduation to celebrate their accomplishment at the University of La Verne. However one of the questions they ask themselves in preparation for the ceremony is what do they wear under their gown. 

For their Fall 2026 collection, Italian-brand Moschino sent a purse that looks like a bag of churros down the runway. These types of ideas are not new to the brand, however, this highlights a larger trend that is taking over the fashion world: the luxury of food. 

While most of the country is ready to bring out their chunky knit sweaters and long coats, the people of Southern California do not make the same clothes transition when it comes to the winter months. 

Fashion trends come and go, either reflective of a decade gone past or using more modern day concepts to create something entirely new.
