The Campus Activities Board teamed with the Hope 4 Homeless Youth Campaign and the Church of the Brethren to collect food and clothing, and to raise awareness of homeless college students on Monday at Sneaky Park.
Over the next 10 years, 50 students who have been homeless or have gone through the foster care system will receive scholarships to attend the University of La Verne.
Adam Gray, a sophomore business administration major, spent the first five weeks of the semester homeless because of difficulties getting on campus housing.
With tuition rising and the state slowly pulling Cal Grants, it is no wonder that many students are scraping to find places to live while they further their education.
