Due to the pause on live performances, the University of La Verne Music Department’s virtual recital featured both vocal and instrumental performances ranging from theatrical musical numbers to Spanish love songs at noon on May 7 via Zoom for an audience of 42.

With 53 attendees in the audience, the University of La Verne’s music department gathered to demonstrate musical talents, which ranged from singing to instrumentals, in its first recital of the spring semester April 9 over Zoom.
Eric Bishop, a University of La Verne alumnus, who also held several positions at La Verne – including associate dean of academic advising, journalism professor and Campus Times adviser – was recently appointed president of Ohlone Community College in Fremont, California. He starts July 6.
The hyperpop duo 100 gecs brought a new, intoxicating stage presence to the Glass House in Pomona at their April 14 show. 100 gecs’ performance was a stimulating mix of genres like electronica, pop and synthcore that I have never seen before at this venue.
