A legacy is what professor of music Reed Gratz has left etched into the history of the University of La Verne. After 48 years of being a Leo, Gratz is retiring and saying his final goodbyes in the best way he knows how.

Music loses beloved Biondo

Musicians of all ages filled the Morgan Auditorium stage for a jam session on Wednesday night to honor Steve Biondo, operations manager of the music department and longtime instructor for West African drumming, who died April 13 in his La Verne home at the age of 58.

Sound engineer’s life well recorded

Friends and family gathered Wednesday in Founders Auditorium to celebrate the life of Robert D. Mathieson, former sound engineer and valued friend at the University of La Verne. Mr. Mathieson, 51, died on Oct. 7 in his home.

Kids music series starts new year

The Kids Music Club held its first concert of the year Saturday in Founders Auditorium. The second annual concert series kicked off with Jonathan and Cindie Rothe presenting “Bring Your Hands and Ears.”
