Musicians of all ages filled the Morgan Auditorium stage for a jam session on Wednesday night to honor Steve Biondo, operations manager of the music department and longtime instructor for West African drumming, who died April 13 in his La Verne home at the age of 58.

Friends and family gathered Wednesday in Founders Auditorium to celebrate the life of Robert D. Mathieson, former sound engineer and valued friend at the University of La Verne. Mr. Mathieson, 51, died on Oct. 7 in his home.

Musical performances by the University of La Verne music faculty and student Chorale filled the air Friday evening in Founders Auditorium. From classical piano, to jazz, to popular music, the Steinway celebration faculty concert offered something for everyone.
As a public school teacher and a ULV adjunct professor, I was a bit taken aback by the Oct. 13 editorial, “Teachers Need More Experience.” I am also a bit unsure which cursory statement the editorial made that I find most egregious, but there were many.
