Local artist Joy McAllister celebrated her first official gallery showing with friends and family on Saturday at the Ginger Elliot Center in Claremont.
The dA Center for the Arts in Pomona was bustling with activity as gallery-goers purchased art and chatted over burritos during the Art in Bloom auction March 9.

After 25 years of covering the south wall of the Arts and Communications Building, the mural depicting historic La Verne, titled “Scrapbook,” is getting a face-lift. The mural, which faces Arrow Highway, is expected to be finished by mid-April.
With a moment of silence along with universal prayer for strength and assistance, the Pomona community gathered to reflect and support the families affected by domestic violence during a candlelight vigil hosted by the Pomona Police Department and the House of Ruth held Oct. 17.
