Four artists from Hiroshima are exploring the cultural, political, and social impacts of the United States’ bombings of Hirsohima and Nagaski during World War II in the exhibition “Each Day Begins with the Sun Rising” through installations, drawings, paintings and video in the Benton Museum of Art at Pomona College.
Eric Bishop, a University of La Verne alumnus, who also held several positions at La Verne – including associate dean of academic advising, journalism professor and Campus Times adviser – was recently appointed president of Ohlone Community College in Fremont, California. He starts July 6.
The hyperpop duo 100 gecs brought a new, intoxicating stage presence to the Glass House in Pomona at their April 14 show. 100 gecs’ performance was a stimulating mix of genres like electronica, pop and synthcore that I have never seen before at this venue.
