Competition has been an intrinsic part of our lives since day one. Everybody competes with one another on some level of competition everyday, whether it be on the freeway, in the office, on the court or on the field.
After losing its conference championship and potential playoff berth by a combined total of three points, the University of La Verne football team seemingly had nothing to play for when it traveled to Menlo College in Atherton, Calif., but it pulled out a dramatic season finale win Saturday, 47-41.
With Saturday's double-overtime victory, the University of La Verne football team kept alive its hopes for a Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) championship and remained in the hunt for a Division III playoff berth.
