With over 400 athletes across 18 teams, it is easy to take La Verne’s athletic programs for granted. But as with many great things, our sports came from very humble beginnings.
The cheetah; it earned the title of the fastest animal on the planet. The University of La Verne’s 4x100m relay team; it earned the title of the fastest Division III 4x100m relay team in the nation. These guys are Leopards not cheetahs, but on the track, nobody does it faster.
One sure qualifier and other track and field athletes at La Verne are looking for their ticket to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division Ill Championship in Northfield, Minn. on May 25.
