The Los Angeles County Fair hosted its annual La Verne Day Wednesday where La Verne residents and members of the University of La Verne community enjoyed free admission to the Fair.
“Amazing,” and “eye captivating!” are just a few of the words that fair goers used to describe the exhibit, PST: LA/LA, on display at the Millard Sheets Art Center at Fairplex in Pomona.
The crunch of dry dirt echoed through the building as children rushed around winding fences to get to the front of the line. They stood along the fences, waiting, in the thick, sticky air.
Mi POCO L.A. – or Pomona Collective Los Angeles County – is holding a celebration of music, food and art through the Los Angeles Latinx lens every weekend outside of Millard Sheets Art Center at the Fairplex.
It was a warm afternoon at the Fairplex in Pomona last week as I enjoyed a day visiting the Los Angeles County Fair. I was delighted that I did not have to pay for entrance into the fair, as it was La Verne Community Day – University of La Verne students received free admission.
Photography, figured animal heads, landscape portraits, abstract paintings, glass art, cartoon art and paper sculptures filled the Art Classic exhibit at the Los Angeles County Fair.
