Despite a change in university level management, efforts spearheaded by University of La Verne students to improve working conditions for the Sodexho Marriott workers seem to be doing little good.
Following concerns that the treatment and working conditions of Sodexho Marriott employees have not improved, Marriott's regional operations director Thomas Marotta met with the Coalition of Diversity on Tuesday, where both staff and students questioned Marriott's adherence to the promises made to employees last semester.
Sodexho Marriott's regional operations director, Thomas Marotta, sent a letter of response Wednesday after he met with the University of La Verne students who initially raised the issue concerning the treatment of Marriott Housekeeping Services workers at ULV.
Employees of Marriott Housekeeping Services at the University of La Verne, through a group of ULV students, requested on Tuesday that the University's administration look into allegations of employee abuse by Marriott management.
