With over 400 athletes across 18 teams, it is easy to take La Verne’s athletic programs for granted. But as with many great things, our sports came from very humble beginnings.

A select group of Leopards competed in the Occidental Invitational on Friday and Saturday at the Bill Henry Track.
The La Verne track and field teams finished their Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference season in Claremont with a trio of personal bests.
The Leopards placed in 11 different events, to include two first place finishes at the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Track and Field Championship held at Burns Track in Claremont on Saturday and Sunday.

The University of La Verne inducted eight former student-athletes, as well as the entire 1981 women’s volleyball national championship team, into the Athletics Hall of Fame at a ceremony Saturday at Sheraton Fairplex Hotel and Conference Center.
The men’s and women’s track and field teams had a total of five individual wins in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Multi-Dual No. 2 meet Saturday at home.
La Verne’s track and field teams competed in the 23rd annual Rossi Relays on Saturday. Claremont-Mudd-Scripps hosted the event at the Burns Track and Field Complex.
Catalina Lee Kim and Kyle Ambat will represent the University of La Verne track and field teams at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships hosted by the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
T.J. Randall was named the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference field athlete of the year after dominating the throwing events at the SCIAC Championships.
