The Campus Times and La Verne Magazine cleaned up in the Columbia Scholastic Press Association’s annual contest for the 2023-24 academic year, each winning the prestigious Silver Crown award for overall publication excellence in their respective categories.

University of La Verne journalism students cleaned up in this year’s Society of Professional Journalists Mark of Excellence awards – winning a total of nine awards, including seven awards for Campus Times staff writers, one for the La Verne Magazine, and one for the Foothill Community News broadcast – for work produced in 2023.

A senior thesis exhibition featuring the artistic works of photography majors Nareg Agopian, Armida Carranza, Kaylie Ennis, Casi Martinez, Natalie Medrano and Litsy Tellez opened May 4 in the University of La Verne’s Irene Carlson Gallery with an artist walkthrough and gallery reception.
