Two out of three teams from the La Verne Debate Team advanced to the quarter finals of the George Washington Intervarsity Invitational at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. March 21 and 22.
Motivated by its recent international win in Canada, the debate team continued its successful streak, placing first in the UC Davis tournament this month for the second year in a row.
The La Verne Debate team is now ranked second in the nation after placing second in the final round of the National US Open at Claremont McKenna College Sunday. Team A, consisting of seniors Sam French and Carl Decker, brought home the award for the team.
