It was an afternoon baseball game at Claremont High School in late March. Looking around and taking in the scene, you would not think this was only the third game hosted on campus since the pandemic halted almost every aspect of American life – schools most strikingly.
With increasing competition, and sports teams practicing – or at least conditioning – for extended periods beyond their competitive seasons, some student athletes here struggle to balance their academic classes with work and their intense practice schedules.
"The mission of (the National Athletic Trainers Association) is to enhance the quality of health care for athletes and those engaged in physical activity, and to advance the profession of athletic training through education and research in the prevention, evaluation, management and rehabilitation of injuries."
The Far West Athletic Trainers Association and the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) sponsored a three-day seminar for athletic trainers to interact and receive additional educational units.
