BALTIMORE—The La Verne women’s volleyball team became NCAA Regional Champions on Nov. 22, after an intense reverse sweep against Johns Hopkins. The Leopards closed off the game, 15-13, in the five sets.
The Leopards’ magical playoff run ended with a 2-1 loss to Pomona-Pitzer in 10 innings on Sunday, capping off their appearance in the NCAA Super Regional at Ben Hines Field.
With a third straight regular season title under their belts, the Leopards entered the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament ranked No. 11 nationally. The team won three of their four games to earn a bid to the NCAA Regionals this weekend.
The incredible Leopards’ volleyball season ended Wednesday night in the NCAA Division III Volleyball Championship Quarterfinals, where the Leopards fell in four sets to No. 1 seed and two-time defending national champions Juniata.
