Kwon to step down from provost post

Interim Provost Roy Kwon will relinquish the position as of Jan. 1, 2024, and will continue as vice provost of the University of La Verne, President Pardis Mahdavi announced via email Wednesday.

University of La Verne professor of education emeritus Dr. Jim Dunne died Nov. 20 in his home in Sedona, Arizona. He was 87 years old.

Ceremony marks high Bar pass rate for College of Law

The University of La Verne College of Law and Public Service achieved a 66% bar exam passing rate, the highest in recent history. The students’ success was celebrated with a swearing-in ceremony on Dec. 1 at the College of Law campus in Ontario. 

Provost, president cancel three-day mandate

As part of their effort to show support for faculty governance, the president and the provost rescinded the controversial mandate – which had been written into 2023-2024 faculty contracts – requiring that full time faculty be on campus at least three days a week.

Event honors international student community

University honors First-Gen Day

Students gathered Wednesday to celebrate National First-Generation Day. First-generation students, who make up over 40% of the University of La Verne’s student body, are those whose parents or guardians did not complete a four-year college degree.
