On April 15, the University of La Verne’s Sneaky Park, a place usually filled with students talking and laughing, was the location of Rainbow Alliance’s Day of Silence demonstration.
Although the University of La Verne may not be exclusively known for its lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender groups most people know that we have one. Unlike some university campuses the LGBT community here has an on-campus presence: we have the Rainbow Alliance club.
As part of a week of activities planned to kick off the spring semester, the University of La Verne hosted a club fair Feb. 2.
John Corvino known as “The Gay Moralist” was invited by the Rainbow Alliance club to give a lecture last night in the university’s Campus Center Ballroom A on the morality of homosexuality titled “Born or Made and What’s the Difference?”
John Bartelt, associate professor of education and technology, gave a lecture for the Colloquium Series on Diversity entitled “Gender, Identity, & Sexual Roles” on March 11.
To kick off spring semester, the Associated Students of the University of La Verne and the Campus Activities Board planned fun events and activities for the first week in February.
