With over 400 athletes across 18 teams, it is easy to take La Verne’s athletic programs for granted. But as with many great things, our sports came from very humble beginnings.

There was a delightful sense of relief in the crowd last Saturday as the Leopards capped off Homecoming weekend with their first win of the season against the visiting Pomona-Pitzer Sagehens, 45-37.
Our school may not be well known for its football program; it has not put us on the map, nor has it produced any professional athletes that anyone outside of La Verne can name.
