The class of 1994's $4,000 gift to the University of La Verne arrived Monday in the form of the University's mascot, the leopard.

Now in its fourth semester of excavation, the Lordsburg Dig is hoping to see new ground made toward expanding the site through a proposal made by Anne Duffield-Stoll, director of the dig site.

A 107-year history can provide many unusual facts with any institution. Such is the case with the University of La Verne. Digging deep into the attics of La Verne history can produce many interesting facts.

Designed to dig up history, the Lordsburg College Excavation class began on Wednesday, Feb. 7 with hopes of finding artifacts from La Verne’s past.

While most students were away enjoying summer vacation, the University of La Verne did not rest. June, July and August brought continued renovation and improvement to the campus and curriculum, including progress on the Wilson Library and Landis Academic Center, new general education requirements and a new location for Central Services.

With the reconstruction of Wilson Library scheduled to conclude in January 1996, plans to renovate Sneaky Park, on the corner of Third and “C” Streets, have been drafted by the University and approved by the city.
