I enjoy riding my bike, and I am well aware of the benefits to my health and the environment. Often times, I feel like I am a nuisance to motorists. They will speed by me, and sometimes they come within inches of hitting me.

In this age of ultra-divisive politics, gun rights has become an issue which evokes an emotional response (“Students support Second Amendment Rights,” Oct. 7).
Many of you may have noticed the reserved parking spaces in our crowded parking lots. For $1,500 a year, employees are able to reserve a personal parking spot of their choice.
While I am sure it is well intended, a mandatory helmet law is not the answer to bicycle safety (“Liu urges reform for helmet law,” March 6).
I realize that the last thing people want to hear any more about is the parking situation. I do not have an answer to the problem, but I have some minor suggestions that might make things a little easier.
