Junior Karie O'Neill teams up with her father, senior Dennis O'Neill in Dr. Stephen Sayles' Development of American Democracy II class. The senior O'Neill is a history major and will graduate this May. He hopes to teach and coach at the high school level. Karie, a chemistry major, also wishes to pursue a career in teaching immediately after graduation. She hopes to eventually work in drug research for a pharmaceutical company. / photo by Ryan Sones

Remember the days in kindergarten and first grade when you were able to show off your parents and what they did as real people in our world of dreams and make believe? For junior chemistry major Karie O’Neill those times have returned in her Development of American Democracy II class in a peculiar way.

Dr. Donald Clague, professor of educational management and administrator emeritus, was appointed chairman of the Board of Directors for Brethren Hillcrest Homes. As chairman, he hopes to increase the effectiveness of the board and reduce the time commitment the board has required of its members.
