New spin on after school activities

During a warm-up session, Soetan Osifeso, 19, tries a few tricks while Jose Carerra, 18, and Soyemi Osifeso, 15, watch and wait for their turn to show off. The Hip Hop School of Arts in Pomona is a unique space that features lessons on how to DJ, create modern street art, and dance in a variety of hip-hop styles. The school is located on the southwest corner of Garey Avenue and Holt Boulevard in Pomona. The school’s executive director Julio Cesar Rivas leads the new program, inaugurated Feb. 27.
