ULV journalism students take home nine regional awards

University of La Verne journalism students cleaned up in this year’s Society of Professional Journalists Mark of Excellence awards – winning a total of nine awards, including seven awards for Campus Times staff writers, one for the La Verne Magazine, and one for the Foothill Community News broadcast – for work produced in 2023. 

La Verne Magazine is among best of best

The La Verne Magazine has received a 2022-23 Silver Crown award for hybrid magazines from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association. This win puts the Magazine among the top eight college magazines in the nation for the 2022-23 academic year. 

Senior creates sports talk show

Grace Harrison, senior digital media major, has created a TV sports talk show for her senior project, combining her passions for TV and sports.  

Campus Times wins gold for journalism excellence

The Campus Times has won the Columbia Scholastic Press Association's Gold Medal award for overall journalism excellence for Newspaper/Online Hybrid publications for the 2022-2023 academic year. This puts the publication in the highest tier for college news outlets across the United States, once again.
