The Cal Poly Pomona Pumpkin Fest is back in town with the pumpkin patch, corn maze, petting zoo, hay rides and a few new attractions.
People of all ages came out to enjoy the Fest.
This year’s event brought a few new activities and attractions such as the night maze, duck races and sunflower fields.
The night maze was popular among older visitors and was one of the spookier attractions.
Jazmin Breana of Monrovia said that she has loved going to the Cal Poly pumpkin patch every year because there is so much to see and admission is free.
Breana said that she especially loved the new sunflower field attraction because it brightens up the area even more.
“This is one of the coolest pumpkin patches around because there are not many pumpkin patches you can go to where they grow the pumpkins themselves,” said Sandra Reyes of El Monte, who attended the fest on Friday.
Certain attractions like the duck mazes, hay wagon rides, pony rides, and petting farm are only open on Saturday and Sunday. The rest of the attractions are daily. The fest is closed Mondays.
Ashley Conlon of San Dimas said that Friday was her first visit to the Fest.
“I love the atmosphere of the festival and how there are so many fall activities… The petting zoo would have to be my favorite attraction at the festival,” Conlon said.
There is a variety of treats available for purchase at the Farm Store, which offers fresh produce and fruit all from the Cal Poly Pomona farm.
Proceeds from the Farm Store go back to the farm.
“This is definitely a pumpkin patch that will make you feel right at home and make you never want to leave,” said Joseph Kojian of Pasadena.
The Cal Poly Pomona Pumpkin Fest is open from noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, from noon to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Admission is free but certain attractions require tickets.
