In last week’s issue of the Campus Times, it was reported that a new vice president of administration was selected on Feb. 7. However, although a decision had been made that two out of the three candidates who were chosen for the position were notified by the search committee that they could no longer continue in the process and the search has been reopened.
“I asked the search firm [Morris Berger] to seek additional candidates for interviews,” said President Stephen Morgan.
Although the names of the candidates are still confidential, there is one candidate still in the process of being chosen, along with an unknown number of new candidates to be selected.
A set date has not been chosen for when a new vice president will be selected, due to the length of the process.
The vice president is responsible for all of the financial and administrative obligations for the university.
Steve Grey, chief financial officer, has been serving as the vice president for administration for a year-and-a-half now. He declined the offer for the position and still remains CFO.
“We, the search committee and I, felt that we wanted to look at more people before we make a final choice. It is such an important position and we feel we need to choose the right person for this job,” said Dr. Morgan.
