The University of La Verne moved one step closer yesterday to selecting a new athletic director after the committee responsible for evaluating candidates made their recommendation to President Stephen Morgan.

According to committee member Hector Delgado, Morgan will decide to either extend an offer based on the recommendation, or ask the committee to continue the search.

If the president agrees with the recommendation, negotiations will begin with the candidate of choice over salary and benefits.

The University hopes to fill the athletic director position by July.
