Film Screening
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences 75th anniversary Screen Series, “Facets of the Diamond: 75 years of Best Picture Winners,” will be showing “The Silence of the Lambs” in the Samuel Goldwyn Theater on Sept. 22 at 7:30 p.m. in Beverly Hills.
Fall Show
“The Telephone” and “The Medium,” will be performed at 8 p.m., Sept. 25 through Sept. 27 in Founders Auditorium. Directed by Scott Farthing and Jane Dibbell, the show will feature two chamber operas by Gian Carlo Menotti. General admission is $8 and $5 for students.

Opening this week in theaters are “Cold Creek Manor,” starring Dennis Quaid and Sharon Stone, “Underworld,” starring Kate Beckinsale, “The Fighting Temptations,” starring Beyonce Knowles and Cuba Gooding, Jr., and “Anything Else,” starring Woody Allen and Christina Ricci.
Music
Singer/songwriter John Mayer is atop this week’s Billboard 200 charts with sales of 316,500 copies of his album, “Heavier Things.” Teen idol Hillary Duff’s album, “Metamorphosis,” falls to No. 2, selling 107,000 copies while R&B singer Seal debuts with “Seal IV” at No. 3.
Emmy Awards
The 2003 55th Annual Primetime Emmys will be broadcast live from the Shrine Auditorium Sunday, Sept. 21, at 8 p.m. on Fox. Nominees include Doris Roberts and Brad Garrett for “Everybody Loves Raymond,” Sean Hayes for “Will and Grace,” Tyne Daly for “Judging Amy,” Robin Williams for “Robin Williams: Live on Broadway,” Kim Cattrall for “Sex and the City” and John Spencer for the “West Wing.”
