ULV hosts first Preview Day

Preview Day, held Saturday, was an opportunity for prospective students to get a taste of the University’s offerings. It included tours, panels for prospective students to ask questions and lunch among other activities to show off the University and answer prospective students’ questions.

“It went smoothly and was very organized,” said Roxanne Garcia, a senior and student Preview Day chair.

Garcia and senior Debbie Allison, were in charge of helping put panels together and organizing for the event. In all 17 student leaders helped with Preview Day – all on hand to answer questions and guide visitors through the campus. Many of the Preview Day Leaders were freshmen, who not long ago were making their own choices about college.

“(My favorite part) is interacting with prospective students and just working with current students,” said Adam Wu, assistant director of admissions.

Prospective students’ families engaged in the activities of the day by asking questions of the various panels which addressed such topics as student life, housing, study abroad, and athletics. After the tours, the day was over for the group of prospective students. The next Preview Day will be Nov. 20.
