La Verne alumna Lenore Moreno competes in the U.S. Olympic Marathon trials Saturday in Los Angeles. With the Los Angeles heat beating down, Moreno was in 47th place after mile one. At mile nine, Moreno ran side by side with Tori Tyler, who dropped from the race at mile 14. By mile 20 she was in 13th place. She held her place for the next six miles to finish 13th of 149 women.
