Leopards clinch SCIAC championship

The Sagehens snapped the Leopards’ Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference winning streak, 88-84. However the Leopards bounced back to beat Occidental, 71-53, on senior night Wednesday to win the SCIAC regular season championship and secure the No. 1 seed in the conference postseason tournament. La Verne is currently ranked No. 22 in the nation. The team will travel to Redlands to face the Bulldogs and close out their successful regular season at 5 p.m. Saturday before embarking on their post-season journey beginning on Thursday. / photo by Nareg Agopian

As the Leopards progress into the middle of their season, the men’s and women’s track and field teams finished strong in multiple events at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational on Saturday.
