Javier Álvarez’s ‘Prédio’
The Irene Carlson Gallery of Photography is currently showing photographer Javier Álvarez’s “Prédio” exhibition. The exhibit documents about 400 people in Brazil occupying offices adapted into rooms of 50 to 100 square feet under a decent housing solution. “Prédio” runs through March 24 in Miller Hall.
‘Humanifestation’ Student Exhibition
“Humanifestation” is a University of La Verne photography student exhibition exploring the human disruption in nature. Displayed is work by senior photography major Nareg Agopian, senior criminology major Drake Ingram, senior photography major Darcelle Jones-Wesley, senior photography major Casi Martinez, senior photography major Natalie Medrano, junior journalism major Abelina J. Nuñez and junior digital media major Amanda Torres. “Humanifestation” is on view until March 24 in Miller Hall’s Ground Floor Gallery.
‘Asymmetrical Orbits’
Harris Gallery at the University of La Verne’s new exhibition, “Asymmetrical Orbits,” features sculptures by artists Linda Nguyen Lopez, Jon Pylypchuk, Nicolas Shake, Vincent Tomczyk and Connie Martin Trevino. Harris Gallery is open Monday to Thursday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., or by appointment. The exhibition is on view until March 23.
Joel Rafael
American singer-songwriter Joel Rafael and The Citrus Sisters will perform at the Folk Music Center on Saturday. Doors open at 7 p.m. and admission is $20. The Folk Music Center is in the Claremont Village 220 Yale Ave.
Andrée M. Mahoney
The Claremont Lewis Museum of Art is exhibiting “Andrée M. Mahoney: Spirit Voyager,” which shares a journey through universal symbols and metaphors used to navigate through land, sea and sky to connect with the cosmos. The exhibit runs until April 23 and is open from noon to 4 p.m. Fridays to Sundays. The museum is located at 200 W. First Street in Claremont.
ULV Dance Team
The University of La Verne Dance Team will perform during halftime of the Ontario Reign vs. Calgary Wranglers hockey game Sunday at the Toyota Arena in Ontario. Doors open at 2 p.m.. The arena is at 4000 Ontario Center in Ontario.
Café Con Libros Live Music
Café Con Libros has its live music and jazz band perform every second Saturday of every month. There will be special guests and locations who will join. The live music will occur from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and is located at 280 W. Second Street in Pomona.
