Dailey Theater
The theater arts and music departments present “Naughty Marietta” by Victor Herbert. First produced in 1910, it is one of the classics of the American musical theater. The play starts at 8 p.m. on Thursday in Dailey Theater. Additional shows are on Nov. 15, 16, 21, 22, 23, with matinee shows at 2 p.m. on Nov. 17 and 23. General admission is $10, $5 for seniors, students, ULV faculty and staff. For reservations and information, call extension 4386.
Music Concert
Ronald Leonard, cello, and Bernadene Blaha, piano, are coming to ULV as part of the Fall Concert Series sponsored by the music department. The show starts at 8 p.m. on Tuesday in Founders Auditorium. General admission is $5, students are free.
Out This Week
Premiering in theaters this weekend is “8 Mile” starring Eminem who is set against the 1995 hip-hop scene in Detroit, it is rated R. “Femme Fatale” stars Rebecca Romijn-Stamos as a con-woman whose past comes back to haunt her just as she’s getting her life back together.
Music Charts
Debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard charts is the “8 Mile” soundtrack. No. 2 is Christina Aguilera’s sophomore album “Stripped” with the No. 3 spot going to “Nirvana” by Nirvana, which also came out this week. “Shaman” by Santana fell from the No. 1 spot to the No. 4 spot this week to remain in the top 5 for the second week.
