LaVernaplooza snags Lil Wayne

The Associated Students of the University of La Verne and the Campus Activities Board announced Lil Wayne as the headliner for LaVernapalooza. The “Lollipop” rapper was announced at CAB’s “Candyland” welcome back week event Thursday.

Well known for “A Milli,” Weezy will take the stage May 4 at the Fox Theater in Pomona.

“I am a huge rap and hip-hop fan,” said Elmeera Nosrati, sophomore business administration major, and Executive Vice President of ASULV.

“Everyone who loves rap and hip-hop knows he is the O.G. It is going to be a great time with good vibes and good energy.”

A survey was sent out by ASULV in the fall to gauge what type of artists students wanted.

Nosrati said ASULV started by making offers to the most wanted artists and worked their way down until their offer was accepted.

“There is a lot that goes into factoring it, but we try to see what the students want, and then we really go for it,” Nosrati said.

Tickets will be available to students with a valid ID at noon March 22 in Fasnacht Court.
