Carlson Gallery

The Irene Carlson Gallery of Photography is exhibiting “While the Stars Look Down” by Fred Brashear Jr., a photographic depiction of extraterrestrial desert landscapulv es after sundown. 

Brashear teaches photography at the University of La Verne and is a Southern California artist who focuses on the interaction between humans and their natural environment. The installation in Miller Hall runs until Dec. 22.

Jazz Concert 

The University of La Verne’s five piece jazz band takes the stage at 7 p.m. Friday in Morgan Auditorium. Michael Boos, music history and appreciation instructor, will conduct the evening’s rhythmic show for their first concert of the semester.

‘Progressions’

The University of La Verne dance sections present “Progressions,” their second annual fall dance showcase, directed by Stacey Strickland Jr. at 7 p.m. Friday in the Athletics Pavilion. The evening will two-step its way through original works from Strickland, student choreographed works and guest performances from the ULV dance team, student step team Sanctioned ULV as well as guest vocal performances. Over 70 Leopards will perform.

‘Campus Celebs’

LeoFM hosts “Campus Celebs” from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. every Thursday where they invite notable students, faculty and staff to DJ and provide personal insight on themselves, campus activities and campus organizations. The next show features the University’s Interfaith Chaplain Zandra Wagoner on Dec. 14. Tune in to 107.9 LeoFM to hear from a key leader in implementing the core value of diversity and inclusivity on campus.

The Glass House

Canadian rapper and singer Freddie Dredd headlines at the Glass House on Friday with doors opening at 7 p.m. With 7.4 million monthly listeners and TikTok viral music, Dredd’s dark style lo-fi sounds will take over the cozy Pomona venue.
