‘Raisin in the Sun’
The theater department’s fall production, “Raisin in the Sun” by Lorraine Hansberry, focuses on the financial and personal struggles of a poor African American family in Chicago. The play will run at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, with the final performance at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Dailey Theatre. General admission is $10, $8, and $5 for students.
Photo Exhibit
Photographs from “East Side Stories: Gang Life in East L.A” and “Juvenile” by Joseph Rodriguez will be on display in the Carlson Gallery. The exhibit runs through Oct. 12.
‘Visible’
“Visible” is a group exhibition in the Harris Gallery featuring Los Angeles artists Joel Biel, Patrick Lee, Mark Dean Veca and Eric Yahnker. Veca and Yahnker draw upon pop culture figures to create visual absurdities, while Lee and Biel focus on head shot portraits. Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Thursday. The exhibit runs through Oct. 18.
Earth, Wind and Fire
The classic funk band Earth Wind and Fire will be the closing act of the Los Angeles County Fair End of Summer Concert Series at 7:30 p.m., Sept. 30. Tickets start at $25. For more information visit lacountyfair.com.
Drowning Men
The Drowning Men will perform with Mothers of Gut and Dharma at 7:30 p.m., Oct. 3, at Aladdin Jr. 2 in Pomona. The show is presented by Viva Pomona. The show is all ages, tickets are $8 at door. For more information visit facebook.com/viva.pomona.
