Halloween is here again and, being in college, a majority of people feel that they are too old to go out and get candy door to door. This year, why not give out candy in Studebaker-Hanawalt Residence Hall? The Office of Housing and Residential Life is putting on a trick-or-treating event for all the children of the La Verne community.
“Every year in Stu-Han we give out candy to the kids in the community of La Verne,” said Liz Rodarte, junior program assistant in Stu-Han, who is organizing the night. “The purpose of allowing the children to trick-or-treat in our dorms is to create a safe place to trick-or-treat and allow a fun time as well. We expect around 100 children.”
Housing is supplying the candy, but additional help from the community is welcome.
“Stu-Han is welcome to all students of La Verne, Brandt, Oaks and off-campus students who just want to help,” said Rodarte. “We also need guides for the children.”
The event will take place on Saturday, Oct. 31, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. To assist or ask questions, contact Rodarte at ext. 6301.
