The Los Angeles Computer Fair, which happens to be the largest computer fair in the nation, came back to the Pomona Fairplex Saturday and Sunday.
This fair is the best place to buy parts for computers, as the many booths sell different computer parts for cheap prices.
“I come here a lot,” said Wayne Che, a local computer enthusiast. “Hardwares are pretty cheap, but it’s a pain to return them.”
Everything from cables to hard drives are available and displayed for easy access. Free table space is a rarity at most of the booths.
Aside from computer parts, accessories were abundant at the show. One such accessory was a program called the 3D Album.
“It’s a photo presentation program,” said 3D Album Representative Johnathan Ho. “Take digital images which you combine with our 3D animations to create a presentation.”
Unique programs like this were not the strangest thing at the show, however.
There were many booths dedicated to something that had absolutely nothing to do with computers. Booths selling random items, like toys, luggage, sunglasses and swords were sprinkled liberally about the show floor.
Along with the many items available for purchase, there were also seminars to help those lacking in computer knowledge. Saturday’s seminars, led by Tom Cross, taught the audience “how to use your PC to transfer your old VHS videos to DVD.” Sunday’s seminar gave “tools and techniques for creating video on your PC.”
Anyone with an interest in computers can find something for them at the Computer Fair. The next show at the Pomona Fairplex will take place on April 23 and 24.
