The University of La Verne’s Board of Trustees is scheduled to meet today to make a decision today on a 2.9% tuition increase for the 2024-2025 academic year.

Starting in the 2025-26 school year, the University’s January Term will move to the new May Term. This change – approved by the Board of Trustees in May – which students and faculty members have protested in the past, has not been formally announced to students and faculty. 

The Los Angeles chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists honored Ben Camacho, a freelance documentary photographer, investigative journalist at KnockLA and University of La Verne alumnus, on Wednesday night at the association’s 47th annual Distinguished Journalist Awards event.

The city of La Verne and 11 other cities filed an injunction against Los Angeles County’s new Pre-Arraignment Release Protocols, known as the zero-bail policy, a day after it was adopted, due to public safety concerns.
