“All for the low, low price of $35,000,” is a phrase that usually follows the description of a three month European vacation. But, it might be less expensive to be accepted for the study abroad program offered at the University of La Verne.

“It snowed today in Nancy. For the first time ever, I saw the snow fall,” these words were written via e-mail by University of La Verne student Tieu-My Nguyen to Dr. Alfred Clark, assistant vice president of Academic Affairs.

“Jumping on the Web” and “surfing the Net” are terms that are all too familiar to many Internet junkies at the University of La Verne. With full access to the Internet, including thousands of features, such as chat lines and e-mail, many students, faculty and staff make “playing” on the Internet a part of everyday life.

Racial tension in the Stu-Han Residence Hall led to a multicultural forum in the Stu-Han lounge Wednesday evening to discuss issues of respect, stereotypes and misunderstandings among students.
