The Latino Student Forum (LSF) held the 11th annual Bienvenida Dinner last Sunday to honor the parents of Latino students at the University of La Verne.

The women's water polo team split four games over the weekend at the Western Water Polo Association tournament in Pomona.

Alpha Delta, the University of La Verne chapter of Alpha Lambda Delta, had its first initiation ceremony recognizing students who have completed their first year of college with a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher. Qualifying students must also have full-time status.

Women's water polo got off to a slow start last weekend at the Claremont Colleges Water Polo Tournament, forcing the University of La Verne to play catch up to top-ranked schools. First half problems in each of the four games left the Leopards with only one victory, giving them a 2-10 record on the year.

Emory University is hosting the 2000 Division III National Swimming and Diving Championships, and for the first time ever, the University of La Verne will send swimmers to compete at the event.

Several impressive individual performances, including two school records, led the University of La Verne men's and women's swim teams through their first taste of Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) competition at Saturday's Pomona-Pitzer Invitational.
