Now that the spring sports season is coming to a close, the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) has named the All-Conference team, from which the University of La Verne softball squad earned six positions, including Player of the Year, while the baseball team managed one.
The University of La Verne softball team brought an outstanding 26-10 overall season to a close last Saturday, when it lost to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, 6-1, in the last of the three-day Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Single Round Robin tournament.
Following a strong two week stand which featured a 5-1 win over the UC San Diego Tritons on April 3, and two big wins against Occidental College (12-1, 4-1) last week, La Verne's softball team finished the season strong this past weekend, winning three out of four games at home.
The University of La Verne women's softball team put up a fight against a scholarship team last Saturday, but lack of scoring cut them short of a victory.
