The bittersweet four-year journey of the University of La Verne's women's water polo team is ending in the same fashion for the first complete class of the program. Seniors Maria DeSantis, Tandis Morgan, Summer Hammons, and Andrea Griffith conclude their water polo careers this year, each having started with the birth of ULV's program and ending with graduation.
The women's water polo team has kept its standing as second in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, having defeated both Whittier and Chapman this past week, 12-2 and 13-2, respectively.
Overall, the weekend was a mixture of defeats, wins and even stitches for the team. This past weekend the women's water polo team faced four of its toughest competitors in a demanding pre-season tournament at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.
This week the women's water polo team experienced both ends of the performance spectrum as it started playing below expectation but ended having all aspects of their game on as they prepare for the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC).
